What we check before an installer can take work

Verification is evidence, not decoration. For each check we record what was checked, against which source, on what date, and when it expires.

A Suny check is not a government endorsement, and it is not a guarantee of workmanship.

✓ NEMSA certification

Confirms that the business's responsible technical lead holds a current certificate from the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency, required before the business can independently take installation work. NEMSA issues the certification; Suny checks and dates the record.

✓ Business registration

Confirms the company is an active business on record with the Corporate Affairs Commission, as of the date we checked.

✓ Identity

Confirmed through an authorised verification provider before a profile is published or customer contact is received. We collect identity data only at that point and keep the verification result, not raw identity records.

✓ Training credentials

Certificates from training providers are shown as their own check, separate from certification and identity, so you can see exactly what has been established and what has not.

On a live installer record the status reads “Current” in green, with the real source and dates filled in.

What verification does not cover

It does not make Suny responsible for engineering or workmanship — the installer is. It does not warrant third-party equipment — the manufacturer does. It does not approve finance — the lender does. And a check confirms a record on a date, not future performance. Where an installer's evidence lapses, they lose access to installation work until it is renewed, and we record that history rather than quietly removing it.
